The National Agency for Examinations and School Inspection (NESA) has announced that the 2024–2025 school year will start on September 9, 2024.
A statement released by NESA states that boarding students will begin returning to school starting the first term on September 6–9, 2024.
On Monday, NESA asked local authorities to monitor the process of returning students to schools and encourage parents to send their children according to the announced dates through its “X” website.

While the scores of primary and secondary school graduates will be announced on August 27, 2024.
The calendar
According to NESSA, the students from the districts of Nyamagabe, Nyanza, Nyamasheke, Rusizi, Musanze, Rwamagana, and Kayonza will depart on Friday, September 6.
On September 7, students from the districts of Nyaruguru, Gisagara, Burera, Gatsibo, and Nyagatare will depart. On September 8, students from the districts of Ruhango, Huye, Rulindo, Gakenke, Karongi, Rutsiro, Ngoma, and Kirehe will travel.
The last students from the districts of Nyarugenge, Gasabo, Kicukiro, Muhanga, Kamonyi, Gicumbi, Ngororero, and Bugesera will depart on September 9, on the date school starts.
