Provisional results for senators elected from public and private universities and institution of higher learning released

This Tuesday, September 2024, elections for 2 senators from public and private universities and institutions of higher learning were held in designated polling sites, with a voter turnout of 82.42% and 77.08%, respectively.

On Monday, September 16, 2024, Senatorial elections were held nationwide for 12 senators elected by specific governing bodies in the provinces and the City of Kigali, with a voter turnout of 97.02%.

The senators who were elected include 12 individuals: three (3) from the Eastern Province, three (3) from the Western Province, three (3) from the Southern Province, two (2) from the Northern Province, and one (1) from the City of Kigali.

The number of senators from each area varies depending on the population size of each province and the City of Kigali.
