Miss Rwanda 2022, Divine Muheto, Charged with Drunk Driving and fleeing accident Scene

On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, the Rwanda National Police released a statement on its social media platforms revealing that the case of Miss Muheto, who was crowned Miss Rwanda 2022, has been handed over to the prosecution. She is being investigated for several offenses, including driving under the influence of alcohol beyond the legal limit, operating a vehicle without a driver’s license, causing damage, and escaping the scene after the accident.

In the statement, the police said, “The police would like to inform the public that Miss Muheto Divine has been apprehended for driving a vehicle while intoxicated beyond the legal limit, without a driver’s license, causing damage to public infrastructure, and fleeing the scene after the accident.”

The police further noted that this is not the first time she has been involved in such offenses. In September of the previous year, Muheto was also involved in an accident that left her with minor injuries; her vehicle was severely damaged.
