A popular British YouTuber and media personality known as Yung Filly, whose real name is Andres FelipeValencia Barrientos, has recently faced court in Perth, Australia, following serious allegations of rape and assault.
The 29-year-old was taken into custody in Brisbane on October 8 and was extradited to Perth the following day to attend a court hearing concerning accusations that he sexually assaulted a woman in her 20s after a performance at a nightclub.
According to police reports, the alleged assault occurred on September 28, when Barrientos performed at Bar1, a nightclub located in Hillary’s, Perth.
Following the show, it is claimed that he brought the woman back to his hotel room, where the assault took place. The charges against him are severe, including four counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, and one count of impeding a person’s normal breathing or circulation by applying pressure to their neck.
Yung Filly began his online career in 2013, quickly rising to prominence in the entertainment industry. He transitioned from creating engaging content on YouTube to making music, garnering over 10 million streams on Spotify, Filly boasts 3.2 million followers on Instagram and 1.8 million subscribers on YouTube.
He is perhaps best known for his participation in the popular online group BetaSquad and his collaborations with the well-known collective Sidemen.
Beyond YouTube, Barrientos has successfully crossed over into television, hosting several shows, including BBC’s Hot Property and his own program, Yung Filly’s Celeb Lock-In.
He has also made notable appearances on Channel 4’s The Great Celebrity Bake Off and participated in ITV’s charity event Soccer Aid. His contributions to the media landscape were recognized in 2021 when he won a MOBO Award for Best Media Personality.
