Senegal football team which is the current African champion lost to Côte d’Ivoire which host this year’s AFCON, and which made it out of group stages as the best looser.
The usual 90 minutes ended on a 1-1 score, making it to extra time which ended with no difference, hence going to penalties. Senegal lost on a score of 4-5 penalties, taking Côte d’Ivoire to the quarter finals.
Cape Verde also today made it to the quarterfinals after scoring 1-0 against Mauritania.
