RwandAir has announced the suspension of flights to Jomo Kenyatta airport.

RwandAir has announced the suspension of some flights to Nairobi, Kenya, due to intense protests being held by workers at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

The announcement was made through various social media platforms like X and Instagram.

The protests were organized by the Kenya Airports Workers Union, opposing a 30-year lease agreement between the Indian company Adani Group and the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

In a statement released by RwandAir on their X account and Instagram account on the morning of September 11, 2024, they said, “Due to the ongoing workers’ strike at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, our WB452/WB453 KGL/NBO/KGL flights scheduled for September 11, 2024, have been canceled. All affected passengers will be rebooked on subsequent flights. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.”

And also Kenya Airway released a statement announcing the same as Rwandair, they said Kenya Airways informs you that due to the actions of some workers at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, some flights have been delayed and may be canceled, affecting passengers both arriving and departing from Kenya. We continue to monitor the situation and will keep you informed of any further impact on flights.”
