Horse riding
Like a lot of people out here, you might be wondering what riding a horse feels like, or have always dreamed of riding one.
They might not be a lot of places, but if you are in Kigali and want to have a horse experience, Fazenda Sengha is the right place to be.
Open from Tuesday to Sunday, 9am to 6pm, alongside Horse/donkey ride, you might enjoy Trail ride, Ziplines, Archery, Paintball, Bungee trampoline, Quad, hike, restaurant & bar.
Gaming
You don’t specifically need to be in bar to refresh after a long and draining day, games are considered to be the best escape.
A pool game with a friend, video gaming with good people to challenge your abilities might be all you need to get over your boss’ frustration or even your lover.
‘Funky Monkey Arcade’ is that place for you.
Neighborhood to Explore
A great place to explore is the buzzing and vibrant neighborhood of Nyamirambo, a multicultural and extremely interesting part of the city.
Nyamirambo is the heart of Kigali, with cool shops, markets, bars, and restaurants. It’s a primarily Muslim neighborhood, so don’t come here looking for akabenzi, but you will find tasty brochettes offered.
You can’t end the tour without passing by ‘Mu marangi’, a popular car free zone area known for the variety of tasty food, and mostly non alcoholic drinks.
Hiking Kigali’s Mountains
For a new adventure, why not climb Mount Kigali . Starting in the Nyamirambo neighbourhood, it’s a relatively gentle incline and you’ll get fantastic views of the city below.
At the top, you’ll find a pretty wooded area and you can stop for a celebratory beer and some food at a bar called Mera Neza.
Visit Milk Bars
Milk bars are where Rwandans get their equivalent of a morning latte. Kigali is home to many small shops filled with little more than a vat of fresh cow milk. Glasses of hot, steamed fresh milk are served straight up, with cocoa powder, honey or tea.
Recently, the government has promoted milk bars in a push to nourish more of the population, particularly those on a low income, encouraging a healthy start to the day. For many Rwandans, a fresh glass of milk and a banana is breakfast.
Visit Museums and historical sites
Numbers of museums do exist within Kigali City with strong history of the 1994 genocide against Tutsi. You can decide to visit one of the museums such as the Presidential Palace Museum, Campaign against Genocide museum, Richard Kant Museum, Kigali Genocide memorial, Belgium museum, Nyamata & Ntarama, Ingabo museum and much more.
Falling in love with Kigali, we don’t only discover a city, we also discover a piece of ourselves – a sense of wonder, a spirit of adventure, and an appreciation for the magic that lies waiting to be uncovered in every corner of the world.
